Bayern Munich's title hopes in the Bundesliga took another knock after drawing 2-2 with Freiburg on Friday night.

Venue: Europa-Park Stadion

Bayern made two changes following their narrow win over RB Leipzig, as Kim Min-Jae and Mathys Tel took the places of the suspended Matthijs de Ligt and the injured Leroy Sane.

Freiburg had a quick start after Matthias Ginter gave them the lead in the first 12 minutes with a half-volley from the edge of the box following a rebound that came off the crossbar.

The hosts continued to be a threat on their attacks and Bayern were twice kept in the game by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who saved a one-on-one chance and plucked out a shot in the top corner.

The Bavarians eventually levelled matters ten minutes before the interval after Tel found the top corner from a rebound with a strike from the edge of the box.

Thomas Tuchel's charges seized momentum and were unfortunate not to go ahead before the interval, as Raphael Guerreiro and Jamal Musiala spurned good chances.

Bayern had a bright start in the second stanza as three minutes in Harry Kane came close to giving them the lead after he went through on the box but dragged his left-footed shot just wide.

With the game on the edge, Tuchel made a double tactical change as he replaced Joshua Kimmich and Guerreiro, who were at full-back positions and brought on Konrad Laimer and Alphonso Davies.

Bayern started to gain more control of the match and Musiala eventually gave them the lead with 15 minutes to go after he went on a solo run, evading tackles from the touch-line before finally finding the bottom corner.

Tuchel looked to close out the game with a defensive change in the dying minutes after Dayot Upamacano replaced Musiala.

However, Freiburg were a threat, as Lucas Holer equalised in the last three minutes with a first-time volley into the top corner following a throw in.

The Bavarians remained in second spot on the table, seven points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who face Koln on Sunday.
