Abha Club suffered a 3-0 defeat to the former Liverpool captain's Al Ettifaq on Saturday afternoon, with Cameroon international Karl Toko Ekambi among the scorers.
The 31-year-old joined Gerrard's side from Abha Club in the January transfer window on a permanent deal, reportedly against Mosimane's wishes.
Rumours at the time suggested that the South African was aiming to persuade the club to hang on to the former Ligue 1 forward just days following his appointment.
Ekambi eventually departed, however, with his goal on the weekend believed to have left Mosimane unhappy with the club's decision to approve his exit, according to HiHi2.
The experienced striker scored Al Ettifaq's second goal in their 3-0 victory, with former Olympique Lyon forward Moussa Dembele also getting on the scoresheet.
