On Friday, the GFA confirmed the return of former Black Stars manager Otto Addo, who was in charge of the side at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Working in a dual role as Ghana boss and talent coach at Borussia Dortmund at the time, Addo resigned and returned to Germany following their elimination from the tournament in Qatar.

In a statement issued by the country's body, president Kurt Okraku said the 48-year-old was massively impressive during the interview process.

"Otto was exceptional in the interview process and was rated highly by the search committee, hence the decision," it read, according to Ghana Soccer Net

"There were some brilliant individuals among the coaches who applied for the job, so the committee took the pain to interview a chunk of them to pick their thoughts on their intentions to transform the team within a short period of time due to our peculiar situation”

"The Committee was overly satisfied with Otto’s performance for which reason he was recommended to the Executive Council for approval."

Addo has come in to replace Chris Hughton, who was sacked immediately after Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign came to an end.
