Despite having a year remaining on his deal, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially announced that they will be parting ways with the Serbian tactician.

The decision comes after the Cranes finished in third place in their AFCON qualifying group, behind 2019 competition winners Algeria and neighbours Tanzania.

Sredojevic, who was serving in his second spell as Uganda national team head coach, saw his charges claim only seven points during AFCON qualification, ultimately leading the football association to take the decision to sever ties with him.

"FUFA and Mr. Milutin Sredojevic agreed to mutually end the existing employment contract between the two parties," an official statement from FUFA read.

"FUFA appreciates all efforts and commitment by Mr. Milutin during his period as Head coach of Uganda Cranes."

According to Pulse Uganda, there had been mounting pressure on the former Zambia boss to vacate his post following the team's early exit from the African Nations Championships that was held in Algeria.

The same report claims that poor results coupled with an "unimpressive style of play" led to the public pressure to see him removed from the role.
