The South African tactician secured his second league victory with Abha Club on Thursday night with a 1-0 win over Al Wehda, a result that has put them within two points of safety.
While Mosimane was not overjoyed by his side’s performance, he did note that picking up wins at this stage of the season, particularly under Abha’s current circumstances, is ultimately what is important.
Georgios Donis, Al Wehda’s coach, reacted to the match by accusing Mosimane’s team of wasting time, and criticising the match official for not taking the necessary action.
"Indeed, there were objections on our part to the refereeing, because we deserved a lot of minutes in stoppage time. 15 minutes should have been counted, not just seven," he said, according to Asharq Al-Awsat.
He continued by admitting his players struggle in key games.
"We find it very difficult in the big matches, but we gave everything against Abha despite the shortage in numbers, he added.
"I am sad for the players, especially since they performed well, but there was bad luck in this result."
