Sundowns inspire students

The ongoing international break has provided Mamelodi Sundowns the perfect opportunity to visit a pair of schools, with the club's media team sharing footage of their visits on social media and YouTube.

Masandawana started their Schools visit at the Thandukwazi Secondary School in Sebokeng, where they helped open a new library alongside sponsors, Hyundai.

Thanks to Hyundai, the library at Thandukwazi Secondary is kitted out with new books, desks and a range of HP laptops for the learners to use.

"I come from the Vaal and to be honest, we have less resources. We have less schools, libraries, hospitals, and clinics. This library will help the children study in this school, it will help them learn more and develop themselves further," says Bafana Bafana & Downs winger, Thapelo Maseko.

Maseko was joined by teammates Lesiba Nku and Neo Maema, who were there to inspire the learners, including the school's football players.

The club were given a joyous "Ka Bo Yellow" welcome by the Vuka-Uzenzele Primary School learners in Mamelodi, with Bafana stars Mothobi Mvala and Khuliso Mudau making an appearance.

Former Downs players and now club ambassadors Tiyani Mabunda and Hlompho Kekana joined in the fun as they played a range of board games, sang, danced and played football with the energetic learners.

"Today is a very special day, for us to be here in Mamelodi to visit this school and to see the kids. It's really humbling and I'm very happy to be here to see the kids participating in different sports and playing games," said Mvala.
