The story
Mamelodi Sundowns moved closer to clinching the 2023/24 DStv Premiership title after securing a nail-biting 2-1 win against Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday night.
Both goals came in the first ten minutes for Masandawana, with Bafana Bafana's Thapelo Morena and Man of the Match, Tashreeq Matthews punishing a sleeping Babina Noko defence.
The Brazilians were forced into an early change in goal after veteran Denis Onyango was substituted as concussion pre-caution after appearing to collide with Sekhukhune skipper, Linda Mntambo.
February replaced Onyanga in the 37th minute — making his very first appearance for Mamelodi Sundowns since joining them in 2019 from Ajax Cape Town.
Despite conceding from the spot to Chibuike Ohizu in the 50th-minute, February put on a solid display from the bench, making a number of crucial saves to help Downs maintain their unbeaten streak in the league this season.
Sundowns midfielder, Teboho Mokoena, shared a video on his Instagram story of Jody February being flooded with love by his teammates in their change rooms after the match.
