SLTV: Henry: What Does It Take To Reach The UCL Final
After winning the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona during his professional footballing years, Thierry Henry spoke about what it takes to reach the final of that elite competition.
Henry lifted the Champions League trophy with Barcelona in 2009, after beating Manchester United 2-0 in the final of the competition.
In 2019, the former Arsenal and Barcelona striker is in South Africa with Heineken talking about the current Champions League campaign and what it took for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs to be where they are.
The two sides will lock horns this evening in Madrid, with Spurs looking to win the UCL for the first time and Liverpool eager to add their sixth trophy to their cabinet.
“What you’ve SEEN this year, hopefully we will see it again but I doubt it, it’s just not normal,” Henry said.
“Tottenham is going to the final losing the first three games, this is unheard of and hopefully we will see it again but I doubt it.”
“Reaching the final of the champions league, it can be a minute it can be now VAR, it can be one bad moment, one bad night, one bad pass, it’s so difficult to reach the final. I have been saying that.”
“Winning the champions league isn’t something that you do everyday apart from Real Madrid,” he added.
