Pitso On Winning The League Title: I Don’t Know Why They Doubted Us
Pitso Mosimane Admits That His Side Were Never At Risk Of Losing The Absa Premiership
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane thinks that his side was never at risk of losing the Absa Premiership league title.
Sundowns were crowned champions of the league last month, after edging Orlando Pirates to the title by seven points.
Speaking to the media after receiving the Absa Premiership coach of the month award for April, Mosimane said that his side was always going to win the league title, adding that they never faced any risk.
“Well, of course we’ve got experience, we know how to do it, but I don’t understand why everybody was doubting, because the league was never, never, ever at risk because we’ve been there for so many months and the only thing that contributed probably to those questions, is at one stage we were at eight points and it has never been lower than four points until today,” Mosimane told the media.
“So I mean, really, 4 points, means we have to lose, is one game plus, because even one match if you lose one match you still have a point and we have the goals. So, of course, there was a… what can I say… I need to respect the challenges, there was probably a scare, I don’t know whether it is the right word. There was closeness, you know, but it has never been at risk for many months.
“But it’s okay because it was good so that the league was never boring and everybody should stay focused. And the hype… But I think it was never at risk,” he added.
