SLTV: Pirates Top Of The Log, Micho Has Other Concerns
Orlando Pirates head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic still maintains that his side is not thinking anywhere beyond their next Absa Premiership encounter despite sitting at the top of the log.
Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a 2-1 loss in the Mother City last night, which saw them drop down to second place on the league standings, although joint on points with log leaders, Pirates.
The Buccaneers missed out on the chance to widen the gap at the top, after a draw with Bloemfontein Celtic at the Orlando Stadium on the same evening.
However, speaking to the media, Coach Micho maintained that Pirates are not concerned about the title race and are not thinking any further than their next Absa Premiership clash against Black Leopards.
“With this badge, you always have in any competition, the highest possible ambitions. However, instead of talking about what you are going to do, you would rather focus on the hard work, dedication. To come closer in hard times, in those seven matches, to take every match as it comes and then looking forward from how many points you can get, but in the end, we will see where we are. But, we do not think anything beyond Black Leopards,” Micho told the media.
“We are disappointed with the results but extremely happy with the commitment and dedication by our players because there is no better feeling for any coach than looking in the eyes of your players and you see eyes that have given everything and faces that says everything has been thrown in the field,” he added.
