SLTV: Larsen: This Team Won’t Go Down
Chippa United head coach, Clinton Larsen is confident that his side will avoid the relegation drop this season.
The Port Elizabeth outfit defeated Bidvest Wits on penalties at the weekend, to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup competition, where they will lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs some time this month.
While they look to keep their Cup ambitions alive, the Chilli Boys will need to mainly focus on their run in the Absa Premiership, as they look to move away from the relegation zone with just six more games left to play.
Chippa are currently 14th placed on the league standings, joint on points with Baroka FC in 15th place and just four points away from Maritzburg United who are at the very bottom of the log.
“That’s why I am confident in the league, that this team won’t go down because if we perform like this, we are going to win more than we lose and I am very proud of the performance, I thought the subs as well made a positive impact,” Larsen told the media.
“Very proud of the performance and the fighting spirit and even the quality of our football, to come and play the football we played against a very strong Wits team, says a lot about Chippa United,” he added.
