SLTV: 'What Angers Me Is That It’s All Smiles And Handshakes With Pirates Players'
Black Leopards head coach, Dylan Kerr was not impressed with the reaction from his players after their loss to Orlando Pirates last night.
Leopards suffered a 2-0 loss to the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium in the Absa Premiership yesterday, with the Soweto giants increasing their lead at the top with three points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns (two-games in hand) at second place.
Speaking to the media after the game, Kerr revealed how devastated he was after the loss, but was disappointed not to see the same reaction from his players.
“What I meant is, I said it jokingly - I’m not going to kill my players, they’ve been fantastic for me. Remember we are still NFD players label, as everybody told me,” Kerr told the media.
“But, you can’t just play the way you want to play at this level, especially against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium and expect to get away with winning the game.
“What angers me is, after the game, I am going around looking at the players, to see a reaction and it is all laughter and jokes and high-fives and handshakes with the Pirates players, big smiles on their faces but I would have been absolutely devastated losing that game. Maybe that’s me being British and I don’t mean that in any offence to African players. But, I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken with the way we played,” he added.
