SLTV - Tani: They Used To Call Me Tlou Segolela

Apr 21, 2020 - 08:05 am
By Soccer Laduma

Soccer Laduma recently caught up with Bloemfontein Celtic right-back, Mpusana Tani, as he shared where his love for the game started and how those around him guided him to achieve the success he now enjoys.

Starting out at an attacking winger as a young teen, one of his early coaches shifted him out to right-back and instead of complaining, he did as he was told and shone.

After playing for a host of local clubs in and around his community, he was scouted by a Louis Botha High School coach and played for the high school team for around 7 months.

Find out what occurred during this crucial period at Louis Botha as he caught the eye of Siwelele youth coaches, his connection to Mamelodi Sundowns and his Coronavirus plea.

During the interview, the 24-year-old said…

  • "I started to take football seriously…"
  • "You learn to see yourself going somewhere…"
  • "For me that was the challenge I was looking for…"
  • "He was very humble and respectful…"
  • "I can’t say I had a rough childhood…"

Where do you think the Bloem-based side will finish the season?
