Bafana Bafana will be playing for a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations when they face Sudan in their final qualifying match on Sunday. Ghana, South Africa & Sudan all have the opportunity to qualify, as ‘The Black Stars’ are tied with Bafana on 10 points, while Sudan sit in third with nine points. Bafana can secure qualification with a win or draw against Sudan, but if they lose, they’ll have to hope that São Tomé and Príncipe pick up their first points of the qualifiers with a win or draw when they face Ghana.
In the latest episode of the SL Podcast’s “The Carwash” with former Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise and former Ajax Cape Town goalie Sean Roberts, the two make their predictions for the make-or-break fixture. Roberts anticipates a victory stating “My only concern is the firepower upfront, but I’m going for a 2-1 win”, while Modise expects a draw from the match, arguing “I know that the [Ghana] match is going to take so much from the guys. I’m going for a Sudan draw but we’ll qualify.”
