'He Was Given A Chance To Play, He Was Lazy' - Chiefs Fans

Last Friday, Kaizer Chiefs announced the termination of midfielder Siphelele Nthangase’s contract, three years after his arrival from Baroka FC. ‘Stash’ appeared to have earned a lifeline last year when he signed a one-year contract extension, and with Amakhosi short-staffed following their two-window FIFA transfer ban, the 2020/21 season left him the perfect chance to break into the first team. However, with Chiefs entering the final third of the campaign, Nthangase has only made two appearances for Gavin Hunt’s side this season, and fans claim he only has himself to blame.

In the latest episode of the SL Podcast’s “The Fan Reaction Show”, Chiefs’ supporters question Nthangase’s determination to turn his Amakhosi career around, with one fan stating “when it comes to Nthangase, there is nobody who is to blame except himself. He was given a chance to play, he was lazy.” Nthangase departs Naturena with a disappointing 38 appearances contributing 0 goals & 2 assists. In the full podcast, Sundowns supporters react to their side’s impressive come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Stellenbosch FC.
