According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs' interest in Gavin Hunt remains despite the Bidvest Wits coach stating that he would prefer not to work for a Big Three team. Rumours surrounding Amakhosi mentor Ernst Middendorp’s have persisted, and it has been suggested that Middendorp could leave even if Chiefs win the Absa Premiership title.
During a recent online press conference which Gavin Hunt gave to the South African Football Journalist's Association, he seemed to categorically deny any rumours linking him with a move away from The Students. While discussing a meeting which he had with an unnamed chairman, Hunt stated “I said, 'Mr Chairman, there's only one problem here, you've got four to five bosses here, I'm the boss'". Despite this, Amakhosi’s interest hasn’t wavered.
