Khanyisa Mayo Is Heading To Sporting Clube de Portugal On Trial
South African U19 starlet, Khanyisa Mayo, is set to go for a trial with Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lisbon, while another youngster has signed in Holland.   Read: Arsenal Sink SA U19s   Mayo, 17, impressed over the last year for both club and country while in Matsatsantsa's youth ranks, and recently won the top scorer award at Durban U19 International football tournament as South Africa's U19s finished as runners-up to Arsenal.   Khanyisa, the son of former Kaizer Chiefs forward, Patrick, seemingly caught the eye of Sporting's coaches in Durban, and has now been offered the chance to train with them.   Speaking at SuperSport's awards dinner on Thursday, the club's CEO, Stan Matthews, said, "As we stand right now, there are five of our academy players that have been invited to Europe for trials. Khanyisa Mayo has been invited to Sporting Lisbon for a trial and, in principle, we have accepted that he should go. We also have another trial opportunity for him at another Portuguese club should that not work out."   Meanwhile, Matthews also confirmed that Zama Rambuwane is currently on trial in Europe, while Jake Aresi has an agreement to join Dutch Eredivisie side, PEC Zwolle.   Matthews said, "Zama Rambuwane is currently in Portugal and headed for Israel, he's had two opportunities to see what appeals to him in case he gets the chance to go. If it doesn't work out then we've struck a deal with Tuks.   "We've also got young Jake Aresti from the academy who has basically been offered something in Holland, and we don't expect to see him back in South Africa. We're excited for him and his family."
