Chances were hard to come by in the opening exchanges but Partson Jaure did go close with a long range effort in the 12th minute. Getaneh Kebede nearly bagged a goal on his AmaTuks debut in the 16th minute but the midfielder's flick sailed just wide of the upright. The home side opened the scoring in the 31st minute, as Kebede laid the ball off for Zwane, who rifled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box. It got better for AmaTuks seven minutes later, as Thabiso Nkoana turned provider to tee up Zwane who drilled the ball home from 25-yards out for his second of the game. Polokwane nearly hit back shortly after the halftime break, when Punch Masenamela broke down the left flank, before rattling the upright with a powerful effort. Substitute Thabo Myamane made an immediate impact minutes after being introduced, as he slotted home from the edge of the area in the 84th minute. However, there was some bade news for AmaTuks as captain, Tebogo Monyai, was given his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card of the game. AmaTuks goalkeeper Washington Arubi ensured his side kept a clean sheet, as he got across the line well to keep out Jabu Maluleke's curling free-kick in the 90th minute.
