Mzansi's finest and Kaizer Chiefs’ number one goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, is currently finding it difficult to keep a clean sheet for his team. However, that could be caused by poor defending.
We all know that you can have a quality goal keeper, but, when the midfielders and defenders are not consistent, the goalkeeper suffers. Those who do not understand football will say that Khune has lost his brilliance.
But truth is that, with Khune between the posts, positive results are possible and therefore he should not be judged by recent form because Chiefs players are currently trying to find their feet.
Clean sheets or not, Khune is the best goalkeeper to be seen in South Africa for a very long time. His accolades can be testament to that.
Furthermore, the absence of Brilliant Khuzwayo is also playing a role in to Khune's lack of form, knowing that, if Khuzwayo was fit, he would have no choice but to perform due to the competition. However, that was not going change the situation, because of the poor defending by the back four, which has ultimately cost Chiefs far too many points.
Having said that, what do you make of the statement above?
