KV Oostende seem to be missing their midfield lynchpin, Andile Jali, having conceded 10 goals in their last two league games.
Jali, who is currently in Equatorial Guinea on international duty with Bafana Bafana, has missed Oostende’s clashes with KV Kortrijk and Gent due to his African Cup of Nations participation, two games that they went on to lose 7-1 and 3-1.
The 24-year-old midfielder has featured in 19 games for Oostende this season, his first full campaign with the club since leaving Orlando Pirates, and was crucial during their impressive start to the campaign.
Meanwhile, the club have also lost their first choice goalkeeper, Didier Ovono, who is also in Equatorial Guinea with Gabon, however he will now return after they were knocked out of the competition on Sunday night.
Up until last week, Oostende had conceded 28 goals in 20 games, although now they’ve conceded 38 in 22 and dropped to 10th place on the Pro League table, eight points shy of the top eight.
Jali will go into battle for Bafana this evening as Shakes Mashaba’s side fight for their AFCON 2015 future against Ghana, however his club side may be hoping that he returns sooner rather than later.
