Chile’s training session on Thursday was halted by coach Jorge Sampaoli to stop Brazil’s largest broadcaster from transmitting lives images of their preparations for the last 16 clash against the World Cup hosts.
A helicopter from TV Globo was caught spying on Chile’s practice just outside Belo Horizonte.
Chile coach, Jorge Sampaoli, brought the session to a temporary standstill until the helicopter was ushered away from local side Cruzerio’s training centre at Toca da Raposa.
The training resumed after a short break but journalists reportedly had to wait outside the training complex.
"It didn’t bother us," Chilean midfielder Mauricio Isla told reporters at the press conference after training, which started late partly due to the helicopter incident.
"But our coach was worried they might see our moves and how we are preparing for the match."
And he joked: "We tried to hit it (the helicopter) with the balls but we weren’t able to!"
Brazil and Chile will face each other in the first last 16 clash on Saturday.
