Davids Not Leaving Ajax
Ajax Cape Town Midfielder Lance Davids Staying Put
Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Lance Davids, will not be leaving the Urban Warriors and is staying put at the club for the upcoming 2014/15 season.
This comes at the back of previous reports that the player was going to be a victim of changes introduced by coach Roger De Sa after he failed to make an impact under him in the past season.
However, the player’s agent, Rob Moore, said the player was going nowhere as the youngsters could benefit from his experience and the player was happy at Ikamva. The 29-year-old player made five appearances for the club in all competitions last season, and the club seems to have decided against releasing him.
The head of scouting department at the club, Sergio Dos Santos, confirmed that the Mitchell’s Plain-born midfielder is going to stay at the club for the 2014/15 season.
“Lance is a member of the squad as we speak, he’s not going anywhere as it was reported in the media. The player is contracted to Ajax and the reports that he could be loaned out were unfounded. His contract runs until 2015 and the coach has decided to give him a chance, he’s an Ajax player,” said Dos Santos.
Although the crew made attempts to reach De Sa, efforts were fruitless, but the crew understands that he also confirmed the player is staying put.
The Urban Warriors are currently camping in George/Knysna as they prepare for the new 2014/15 season ahead and the former Djurgaden IF and 1860 Munich player is part of the squad.
