Rulani Singles Out Three City Threats

Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Rulani Mokwena singled out three players from Cape Town City who will be key for the Citizens this evening.

Sundowns will travel away to the Mother City to lock horns with Jan Olde Riekerink’s side at the Cape Town Stadium in the DStv Premiership.

Both the Citizens and the Brazilians go into the encounter with a win and a draw under their belt in the league and if the records are anything to go by, Mzansi is in for an interesting encounter.

The last time the two sides met, City ended the encounter as the victors with a 3-2 win.

Here is what Mokwena had to say about coming up against the Citizens in their third DStv Premiership showdown.

“Cape Town City have a clear profile, respective of their opposition. Regardless of whether they are playing at home or away. They are well-coached with a structure that allows them to be able to be dominant on the ball.

“They have players to initiate attacks from the back, Fielies (Taariq) and Leeuwenburgh (Peter) are very important for them. Their best player so far in the past three games is Mduduzi Mdantsane as he has bought a different dimension for them this season.”

“They play 4-3-3 with a clear indication of what to do and we have to be very strategic in nullifying a lot of their threats that they will possess as they have a lot of quality,” Mokwena said on Sundowns’ official website.
