After Peter Shalulile bagged his 50th goal for Mamelodi Sundowns, Soccer Laduma looks at how many he has scored in each competition as he joined some of the club's greats who have scored over half a century of goals.
The Namibian netted late in a 2-0 victory over Sekhukhune United on Tuesday night, moving to within three goals of Collins Mbesuma's 25-goal record set in the 2004/05 season in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs.
Since joining Sundowns from Highlands Park, Shalulile has been prolific, netting 50 times in 80 appearances for the club, while contributing with 15 assists.
The 28-year-old has 28 goals in all competitions this season, six more than the 22 he banged in last term. He is seven shy of Mbesuma's record of 35 goals in all competitions in a single campaign. Sundowns have four matches left in the season, including the Nedbank Cup final against Marumo Gallants later this month.
By scoring his 50th for the club, the Namibian international is in the company of Sundowns greats such as Daniel Mudau, Raphael Chukwu, Katlego Mphela and Themba Zwane. He is in the company of club legends and he will certainly be looking to reach a century of goals for the club if he stays long enough at Chloorkop.
Here's a breakdown of the striker's goals for Sundowns
DSTV Premiership: 37 goals
MTN8: 2
Nedbank Cup: 5
