Orlando Pirates assistant coach, Fadlu Davids, has spoken about what the big win against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs has brought to the team.
The Buccaneers are underway with preparations for tonight’s DStv Premiership match against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium and comes after their 3-0 drubbing of Chiefs in the MTN8 semi-finals at the weekend.
Davids has been in charge of the technical team after head coach Josef Zinnbauer rushed home to Germany on Saturday for a family emergency.
“When you’re coming from a good result it definitely lifts the mood, it brings the togetherness, team spirit is up. But if you analyse the secret of the success with a lot of good things tactically yes, but the most important thing was the team effort, the team structure, working as a team and not as individuals,” said Davids, speaking on a video shared on Pirates’ official Twitter account.
“Now it’s on the one hand to carry that momentum into the next game but not to dwell on the past success, but to put all the focus into the net game which is the PSL match,” the former Maritzburg United coach concluded.
