There will be no more ‘Friday night lights’ for Miguel Timm after the midfielder confirmed he is leaving Maritzburg United.
Timm joined The team of Choice at the end of last season after a spell with Chippa United and quickly became an integral part of coach Eric Tinkler’s team alongside Keegan Buchanan.
Pirates' New Signing: From R900k to R19M
His exit from the club does come as a shock considering that he made 26 appearances in all competitions for the KZN outfit.
Now, having helped Maritzburg finish in a respectable 6th position on the Absa Premiership standings, Timm has announced via his Instagram account that it was his last season with the KZN outfit.
“To the blue army my time at the club has come to an end. Thank you for taking me in as one of your own at a difficult period for the club and allowing me to fight the battle along with my teammates of keeping your clubs status in the premiership alive.
"I leave with great satisfaction knowing I contributed to saving many people I grew close with at the club livelihoods and the happiness of the people in our city. Most importantly helping restore the club amongst the best in the league and reaching another cup final along the way.
"Those who’ve grown to know me know that I gave everything not only to the club but most importantly to the people of the City who make this club what it is.
"Ngiyabonga. Long live Friday night lights. Mr calm” he wrote in the statement.
