Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lyle Lakay has shared his opinion about log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs.
Despite Chiefs soaring at the top this season, Sundowns are still confident in their chances for the league title, as proven with their resilience after losing to Amakhosi and AmaZulu FC so far this season.
However, Chiefs’ seven match winning streak and their 10 point lead at the top, still sees them as favourites to lift the trophy at the end of the season, despite there being as much as 18 games left to play.
Speaking in an exclusive with Soccer Laduma this week, Lakay was asked his opinion about Amakhosi’s run so far this season, while the Brazilians are trailing 10 points behind.
“I wouldn’t say they are lucky, but things have worked out for them. So, if things are going your way, you need to ride with it … why not? They have been doing well and you have to give them credit. The coach has turned things around for them, but we just want to focus on ourselves and do what we have to do in order to pick up points. We’ll give them credit and things have been going their way,” he said.
