Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has given an update on winger Kgaogelo Sekgota, who has not been able to break into the Amakhosi side.
Sekgota is about to complete his first season with the Soweto giants and has been used mostly as a substitute, with the coaches seeing him as an impact player.
The former Swallows FC and Bidvest Wits player has only made two starts this season and featured as a substitute 17 times in the DStv Premiership, a clear indication that he is seen as someone who can change the game in the second half.
"When we started, we did not have enough impact players on the bench. Even when we start with him, let's say he gives us 60 minutes and we don't have players who can come in with the oomf when we need it. Then that might be a challenge. So, we are working on him when it comes to his game understanding and his endurance. He will make a few sprints, maybe four or five sprints, and then after that, he is finished," Zwane said during a press conference held at Naturena on Thursday.
"We have to push him to get into his position when we are defending and get into your position when we are attacking and he is still recovering at that time."
Sekgota will be hoping to get an opportunity when Amakhosi host his former club Swallows in the final league match of the season.
