Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on Sekhukhune United and Bafana Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart, the Siya crew can reveal.
Throughout the 2021/22 season, Maart has been closely monitored by Chiefs and other potential suitors for his outstanding performances in Sekhukhune’s first season in the DStv Premiership.
The 26-year-old midfielder has amassed 27 league appearances for Babina Noko and has been rewarded for his consistency with another call-up to Hugo Broos’ 37-man preliminary Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to close sources, an offer has been tabled by the Soweto giants in pursuit of the former Orlando Pirates development player, with the indications that the offer is going to be accepted by Sekhukhune, as things stand.
“Expect Yusuf Maart to join Chiefs at the end of the season from Sekhukhune United. The talks have been ongoing behind the scenes and things look promising between all the parties involved and the announcement is expected to be made at the end of the season,” said the source.
As reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs are expected to unveil Zitha Kwinika from Stellenbosch FC, among other new signings at the end of the season, as well as Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu.
