Gavin Hunt remains in pole position to land the vacant Kaizer Chiefs coaching job, the Siya crew has been informed.
This is despite talk that Adel Amrouche is also in the running for the job and could actually pip Hunt to the appointment.
Amrouche is currently employed by the Botswana Football Association and the federation was quick to issue a statement exclusive to the Siya crew earlier in the week insisting that the Algerian remains under contract with their senior men’s national team.
Meanwhile, Hunt returned to Johannesburg from holiday in Plettenburg Bay last week and it is thought discussions with Chiefs have been ongoing.
There’s talk behind the scenes that Amakhosi could offer the coach a three-year contract, should both parties agree on the terms.
There are 7 other coaches who could rival Hunt for the Chiefs job!
