First Highlands Park Casualty Revealed, Who’s Next?

The first casualty of what could be a mass exodus at Highlands Park has been confirmed.

Veteran goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini appears to the first player who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Highlands Park, which will soon become TS Galaxy, should the deal go through.

It was understood that the deal was as good as done but the Siya crew broke the news that it has hit a snag.

Yesterday, the Siya crew reported that the new management, headed by Dan Malesela would be running a set of trials to see which of the existing Highlands players would form part of their plans and who would have to seek alternative employment.

Now it seems that some players will not even be given the opportunity to impress their new coaches.

Taking to Twitter, Kapini shed light on the situation when he showed up for training with the club, where he was informed that he did not form part of management’s plans for next season.

“Just disappointed, went for morning training today and after training the team manager told us that we are not in (the) coach's plans. That's life, GOD knows why,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile the verdict is out on players like Musa Nyatama, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Bevan Fransman, whose contracts with the club has come to an end. It is yet to be seen whether the club will hold onto the veteran trio, or whether they will have to make way for younger players.
