Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that one of their key players has been given time off to mourn the death of one of their family members.
Sundowns revealed in a statement this morning that Denis Onyango has been given time off from club duty, as he leaves for Uganda after the passing of his father.
“It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing on of the father of Denis Onyango. The Club has released Denis to mourn this great loss and he will immediately leave for Uganda with his family,” Sundowns confirmed.
Also confirmed yesterday by the club, Sundowns’ assistant coach, Monqoba Mngqithi has also been given some time off to deal with a family bereavement.
The Brazilians will lock horns with Highlands Park this evening in the Absa Premiership, this before they face off with Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.
