Mamelodi Sundowns have revealed that Oupa Manyisa has since undergone surgery on his Achilles tendon.
The 31-year-old midfielder picked up the injury during Sundowns’ Shell Helix Ultra Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs two weeks ago, with Pitso Mosimane revealing at the time that it could mean the end of the player’s season.
Sundowns have since confirmed that the player is now one week post-operation, as he begins his journey of recovery.
In addition, the Brazilians have given an update on their other players on the injury list, with Anthony Laffor and Emiliano Tade still undergoing rehabilitation on their right knees, Lucky Mohomi undergoing treatment for his knee and Tiyani Mabunda and Keletso Makgalwa both in their second week of training after their ankle injuries.
The Chloorkop-based club has also confirmed that Jose Ali Meza is being assessed by the club’s medical team after an injury to his ankle.
