AmaZulu FC head coach Benni McCarthy is confident in his side’s playing style this season.
Usuthu were eliminated from the MTN8 competition at the hands of Cape Town City on Sunday afternoon and now as they shift their focus to the DStv Premiership, McCarthy has given his thoughts on what to expect in the league.
"Once we get going as a team, the high-press is always on, but Stuart Baxter and Eric Tinkler are the masters of what they're doing, counter-attacking football,” McCarthy tells media.
"If we see what we did against City and the way we opened them up, I'm confident, I don't really care what other managers and teams do against us.”
“That's our philosophy, that's the way we try and press and take the game to teams.”
McCarthy says their achievements last season which saw finishing in the second position on the log, was a result of pressing, and they will only adjust their style of play for the CAF Champions League.
"We will try and press them in the right areas and continue to do what we do best, that's how we ended up in the situation that we did last season, that was our football so we will insist on that.”
"But if we have to adjust here and there because of playing in the CAF Champions League, we will."
