Who Will Be The Hero In The 2017 Varsity Football Final?

Varsity Football Final: Who Will Be The Hero

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 28, 2017 01:03 PM
In the build-up to any major final, the spotlight is always on the men who are most likely to score that winning goal. These are the goals that create instant heroes.
In the red corner for TUT, there is the highly-talented Themba Ndlovu. The leading scorer in the competition with eight goals, Ndlovu has had social media abuzz after each performance in the Varsity Football season. Local football fans simply cannot understand why the TUT striker has not yet been picked up a by Premier Soccer League outfit, especially in a league where natural-born strikers are a rare commodity.
Ndlovu is blessed with the ability to strike with both feet, he is clinical from close range while he is also a dead ball specialist. It is going to be a big game for the TUT striker as another great performance in the final may just be what seals the deal for Ndlovu.
In the white corner for UP-Tuks, there is another hot striker Odwa Makha.Unlike Ndlovu, Makha has been the silent assassin, his teammates referring to his cool head, as he hit form just at the right time for Tuks.
Makha is just two goals behind Ndlovu in the race for the Varsity Football Golden Boot, with six strikes to his name. Makha is 25-years-old and has played at Vodacom/ ABC Motsepe level.
This serves as extra motivation for Makha as the Varsity Football final could arguably be the highlight of his playing career, and would be desperate to put in a spectacular performance in what is likely to be his last game for Tuks.
Varsity Football final between TUT and UP-Tuks, set to be held on Thursday evening at the Tshwane University of Technology campus.
