Mogotsi Relishing Sundowns Trial
TUT midfielder Itumeleng Mogotsi is relishing the chance to showcase his talent at one of the country's biggest and most successful clubs next month.
Mogotsi will have a month-long trial at Sundowns next month as part of Nedbank's partnership with the Premier Soccer League to launch a draft this year- which gives players from the 2015 Ke Yona side a chance to be part of a top flight team.
"I am excited and happy that I will be with Sundowns," said Mogotsi.
"They have quality players and I am excited about their style of play as well. I think the way I play is similar to their style so I think I will fit in nicely."
Mogotsi will also have a chance to train alongside his soccer hero Teko Modise.
"I am very fortunate to train and play with a player I look up to.
"I like the way he plays and I am fortunate that I will be able to learn from a player of his quality at Sundowns," he added.
Meanwhile, the TUT playmaker is doubtful for his team's semifinal clash against UP-Tuks on Thursday. The 25-year-old has been carrying a groin injury for some time and aggravated it when playing for the Ke Yona side against Sundowns this past weekend.
"I am hoping my teammates will do the job on Thursday, because I don't think I will be able to play in that game.
"According to the coaches I will not be playing, but we will see over the next two days if there are any changes," said Mogotsi.
Mogotsi might be sitting on the side-lines for the semifinals, but he is still not prepared to make a prediction on who his team might play in the final if they do make it that far.
"I am not certain who will win between UWC and Wits. I believe the team best team on the day will win," he added.
