Clock Is Ticking For Premier Soccer League Clubs To Get Themba Ndlovu
If any of the Premier Soccer League teams needed even more convincing that Themba Ndlovu is the real deal, they better quickly find video footage of Monday night’s Varsity Football clash.
There are just two days remaining before the transfer window closes and Ndlovu should be on the last-minute shopping list of a host of PSL clubs.
The Tshwane University of Technology striker is the undoubted standout player in Varsity Football 2017 with six goals in four matches, propelling the defending champions to the top of the log. He missed the 2-0 victory over last year’s runners-up, University of Johannesburg.
Ndlovu's display on Monday night’s top-of-table clash against the University of Western Cape was particularly special.
The striker banged home a hat-trick in the 4-2 victory over the 2015 champions with the only blot on his copybook being a missed penalty shortly before half-time.
He would not be found out of his depth at the likes of PSL club Kaizer Chiefs, who would do well to give up their fascination with signing mediocre foreign players and PSL free agents and instead get this textbook No. 10.
Ndlovu has an educated left foot as he has now struck two delightful free-kicks in the tournament already. His last-minute equaliser against Tuks in the opening game was a gem, while Monday night’s effort from the edge of the box against UWC was equally brilliant.
The clock is ticking. Somebody better get Ndlovu’s number quickly, as this kid has some real talent.
