Mogudi Sitting On The Fence For Final
Wits head coach Karabo Mogudi says he cannot make up his mind on who will win this year's Varsity Football tournament.
UWC and TUT meet in Thursday's final in Cape Town and Mogudi and feels that the result might depend on the conditions.
"It is a hard one to predict. I know UWC have home ground advantage and they will understand the conditions better, but I am still not sure what the result will be," said Mogudi.
"I think TUT might take it, but UWC will have a chance with home ground advantage. If conditions are perfect in Cape Town then I think TUT will have a slight edge. The score will be close as well - either 1-0 or 2-1."
Mogudi believes the two teams will rely on different things for their success on Thursday night.
"TUT have the mental edge as they know how to win important games.
"UWC have been great this year and their quick attack can cause the TUT defence some problems - this will depend on how prepared TUT are going to be for the match," Mogudi added.
Mogudi's team lost to UWC on penalties in the semifinals after a goalless draw. It was also a goalless draw between the two teams when they met in Round One in Johannesburg. Wits picked up 0-2 loss against TUT in Round Four.
Based on those games Mogudi has identified some players to look out for in the final.
"TUT have Itumeleng Mogotsi who is very dangerous with possession, while Tapelo Sixishe is one to look out for UWC," he added.
