Masango Leaning Towards TUT Win

VUT head coach Geelbooi 'Gomma Gomma' Masango believes TUT will defy the odds in difficult conditions in Cape Town and emerge as Varsity Football champions.
Masango's team lost to UWC and have beaten TUT in this year's tournament, but believes the Pretoria side will pull off an upset in next week's final.
"It's going to be a tough game especially for TUT," said Masango.
"TUT will be underdogs as they are going to play in very difficult conditions. They are going to be playing on a field that is not playable, but I still think they will win 1-0 on the day."
VUT thrashed TUT 3-0 in Round Four in Vanderbijlpark and Masango believes TUT will have to abandon their normal tactics they adopt at the start of games.
"TUT have some good coaches and that will be a boost for them heading into this game. They have Joseph Mkhonza, who is a former Banyana Banyana coach, assisting Bushy Moloi.
"However, they start games trying to score first and this leaves them exposed and they tend to lose their discipline as well.
"Their strengths are that they have players who are able to keep the ball and they got a good keeper as well," he added.
Masango, whose team was beaten 1-2 by UWC in Round Four, also highlighted some of the Cape team’s strengths going into this final.
"They are solid at the back and they don't make mistakes. Their goalkeeper Reon October is key to this and he gives his defence direction on the field. They also attack with numbers, which makes them dangerous going forward," said Masango.
