Do Or Die For UWC

UWC must beat defending champions, UP-Tuks, in Bellville if they are to have any hope of making the Varsity Football play-offs this season.
 
The Cape side are yet to win a game at home this year, and they will need to turn that around if they want to sneak into the knock-out phase of the competition.
 
UWC are currently in sixth place on the standings, which means that they need to win both of their remaining games and hope some other results go their way as well in order to make the semifinals.
 
They are up against a well-drilled UP-Tuks outfit that has the top of the table in sight as they look to build momentum in their title defence this year.
 
If UP-Tuks beat UWC and the able-topping showdown between NWU and UJ in Mafikeng ends in a draw, then the Pretoria side will take the lead heading into the last set of round robin fixtures next week.
 
However, they will be up against a desperate UWC side on what is known to be a bumpy pitch in Bellville, so they will have to work hard if they are to take all three points.
 
UP-Tuks are known for their direct style, and they may well have to employ it if they are to master the conditions, whilst they can expect UWC to fight hard until the final whistle as well.
 
UWC coach, Boebie Williams, was livid with some of the showboating in the second half of their 1-1 draw with Limpopo last week, so they will be focused on the task at hand as they fight for survival against the defending champions.
