Warriors To Upset The Apple Cart
UCT Warriors will be hosting fellow Cape side UWC on The Green Mile and will be hoping to deny their rivals a chance of qualifying for the semifinals of the tournament.
UCT find themselves rock bottom on the log having picked up just one point from their six games thus far while UWC occupy sixth spot with eight points.
It's more than just pride UCT will be playing for as captain Greg Bryer knows the importance of picking up maximum points in the Cape derby.
"We know they have an outside chance of getting into the semifinal but we are going to be making sure that doesn't happen. We can't allow a Cape side to get into the semifinal if we can't make it ourselves," he said.
Bryer said that coach Rowan Hendricks will, in all probability, stick to his rotation policy for their final game.
UCT have been the perennial whipping boys of the competition but have put in some impressive performances when playing at home, losing by the odd goal to Tuks and NWU but also pushing Kovsies all the way.
An open and attacking game of football is expected, although, the weather could play its part as well in determining the type of game that is played.
