The Siya crew has it on good authority that Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns are finalising the latest deal between the two clubs.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, goalkeeper Jody February was one of several players offered by the reigning DStv Premiership champions to the Dube Birds recently and it’s now believed a loan deal has been agreed to in principle.
Since moving to Chloorkop in 2019, the young goal minder has not had a chance to make an official debut with the technical team preferring Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene and Ricardo Goss ahead of him.
His agent Mike Makaab had initially told the Siya crew back in February that the 25-year-old was looking to move before the end of the transfer window at the time, but it was always going to be difficult for a keeper to find a club mid-season.
But it now appears as though February is close to a fresh start, albeit only on loan at Swallows, where he will compete with Virgil Vries and Thela Ngobeni, two goalkeepers much older and more experienced.
However, February, who has not been part of his parent club's pre-season training, is still seen as a future prospect at Downs and will no doubt be fighting for the No.1 jersey at the Dube Birds.
