After their supporters were seen camping out in the distance to watch the boys in action at the stadium, Stellenbosch FC have now confirmed that the routes used are a ‘no-go zone.’
The Western Cape outfit played their first top-flight home encounter at the Danie Craven Stadium in late October when they played to a 1-1 draw against Swallows FC in the DStv Premiership.
During the encounter, supporters were seen sitting out in the distance watching the action taking place at the Stadium, despite the rules and regulations maintaining that no fans are allowed near and inside the venue.
Now, with Stellies set to host Chippa United at the Danie Craven Stadium this weekend, the Western Cape side have issued a warning to their supporters ahead of the encounter.
“For your safety, we ask that you please refrain from attempting to use mountain routes to gain access to watch our boys in action. SAPS and security detail will be used to ensure the areas remain a no-go zone on matchday. Stay safe and support us from home!” The club said on their official Twitter account.
