Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he will allow one of the club’s most recent graduates more time as he finds his feet.
Promise Mkhuma was promoted to the senior team in January and handed a five-year contract at Chloorkop and hailed a bright prospect with similar traits to Percy Tau, though he is yet to make his official debut.

“Promise follows in the footsteps of the guys that have come from the MDC, where he was the top goalscorer,” Mosimane said of the 20-year-old junior international.
“He has got a special left foot and is a specialist with free kicks, but also very quick and good on one versus one. He reminds me of a Percy, but I don’t want to use that name a lot because I would be putting him under pressure.”
Tau’s trajectory has been well-documented following his promotion to the senior team, a loan spell and then a massive R50-million move to English Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion, who’ve loaned him out to Belgium for two seasons.
Mosimane vowed to be patient with Mkhuma.
“He has a little bit more to work on and to learn. He is training very well, but yes he has had difficulty adjusting in terms of the intensity and the games here because he sometimes wants to sit on the ball and they press him and take the ball. But he is paying his school fees. But we have time for it because he is a young guy,” the coach explained.
