Lesedi Kapinga has broken his silence following his dream move to Mamelodi Sundowns from Black Leopards. The exciting playmaker paid tribute to two special figures in his life while revealing that he is excited about what lies ahead at Masandawana.
Kapinga spent two seasons with Lidoda Dhuva, having joined them from TTM in 2018 and in that time, his talent shone through, naturally attracting the interest of the country’s biggest teams.
Now, having secured a five-year deal with Pitso Mosimane’s side, Kapinga has penned an emotional farewell to Leopards via his Instagram account.
"The past 2 seasons at Black Leopards FC have been possibly the happiest of my life. I only have feelings of gratitude towards everyone at club especially the Chairman, Mr Tidiela and his family.
I have had fabulous teammates on the field and in the dressing room and I have felt the warmth of the incredible supporters. To the many people who supported me, advised & coached me, *Ndo livhuwa nga maanda.
"To the two men who have guided my career, KE A LEBOGA: My mentor and Dad, Mr. Lordwick Makhura from Dondol Stars FC where everything started in the ABC Motsepe League. My humble & long time agent/ business manager, Ntate Moses Mudau, thanks for putting me first. I ask everyone, especially supporters at Black Leopards, to please understand me in my growth to excel on a different platform. Though I faced many obstacles and challenges as a player and adapting to the Premier League and lifestyle, through the grace of God and support from my wonderful teammates, I was able to adjust. NDZI KHENSE NGOPFU!"
Kapinga, who has already teamed up with his new teammates in Rustenburg, will only make his Sundowns debut in the upcoming 2020/21 campaign because he cannot be registered by his new club until then.
“The time has come for a new cycle. I am very excited for the opportunity that Mamelodi Sundowns has given me and I am looking forward to this new exciting challenge and to work best le Bafana Ba Style - Masandawana. Truly The Sky Is The Limit. Lesedi TT," he added.
