SuperSport United are hard at work ahead of their mouthwatering DSTV Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates this weekend.
Kaitano Tembo’s men have dusted themselves off after they were eliminated from the MTN8 tournament they won last season when they suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat to a resilient Bloemfontein Celtic last week.
In contrast, Matsatsantsa have enjoyed an impressive start to their league campaign, managing six points from a possible nine thanks to wins over Black Leopards and Stellenbosch FC, with their only blemish coming against Golden Arrows.
The Tshwane outfit face their first real test this weekend when they take on an in-form Orlando Pirates side.
SuperSport United have since given fans a glimpse of their preparations for the Pirates match.
Encouraging to see for the club was the return of Sipho Mbule and Siyabonga Nhlapo, who were missing in some of their recent matches.
Mbule, who was an influential part of United’s plans last season, has shaken off an injury that has kept him out of action in the new campaign, while Nhlapo makes his return after tragically losing his mother.
Worryingly though, was the absence of talisman Bradley Grobler, who is currently nursing an injury sustained on national team duty with Bafana Bafana.
Grobler was a notable absentee for Molefi Ntseki’s men in their back-to-back wins over Sao Tome and Principe in AFCON qualifiers. There has been no official update on the fitness of the 32-year-old who finished as SuperSport’s top goalscorer last season.
