Sampson was shockingly named amongst a host of players released by Baroka FC ahead of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign
His release from Bakgaga came as somewhat of a surprise, considering that the utility player was offered a new two-year deal in June 2020 after impressing coach Dylan Kerr and his technical team, after he initially signed a short-term deal with the club.
The Mitchells Plain-born player made 12 appearances for Bakgaga last season as they managed to escape relegation on the last day of the league.
Now it has since been confirmed that the 26-year-old has put pen to paper with Leopards, who under coach Patrick Aussems are hoping to beef up a leaky defence that has conceded five goals in their opening two matches.
Leopards acted fastest by snatching the player from right under the noses of GladAfrica Championship side Polokwane City, where the player had been training for the last few weeks, hoping to secure a contract.

However, with Rise and Shine dragging their feet regarding a decision over the steely defender, who previously played in the USA for Vancouver and New Mexico United respectively, Leopards wasted no time in securing his services.
It is understood that the versatile defender could make his Leopards debut against AmaZulu this Wednesday.
