Modiba has been on Sundowns’ radar more than a year now and was close to switching from one Tshwane club to another in January, but the deal collapsed after the two parties could not agree on a transfer fee.
Siya sources have informed the crew that this stumbling block has been dealt with this time around, though the figure was not disclosed.
“If we narrow down which player to sell, to be fair it’s going to come down to Aubrey Modiba, he is the one linked with the most moves all the time. He is the one that Sundowns have been pursuing the most,” Matthews told the SA Football Journalists’ Association last month.
