Confirmed: AmaZulu Buy Three Players

Sandile Zungu, the AmaZulu chairman, has confirmed the purchase of three players that were part of the sale agreement with the previous owners.

The Siya crew reported last month that Bongi Ntuli and Siyethemba Sithebe were meant to be sold during the previous two transfer windows this season, with the money made from the transfers funding the acquisition of franchise.

Zungu took over as the owner of Usuthu in October last year from the Sokhela family.

He has now confirmed to the Siya crew that the terms for that initial deal have now changed, which means he no longer has an outstanding debt with his predecessors.

Siphesihle Maduna was also part of the arrangement.

“We were supposed to sell them during the previous two transfer windows, but that matter is settled now,” Zungu said.

“They are now firmly AmaZulu players and they shall remain so for the rest of their contracts, and as you can see we are utilising them, Sithebe and Maduna, very effectively. Ntuli is unfortunately injured at the moment.”

The trio are now in the final three months of their contracts at AmaZulu, though the club does have added options they can exercise before June 30.

“That’s now a matter for the technical committee. We will be looking at all the players before the end of the current season and there are players who have options and those we have to enter into fresh negotiations. But we have positive inclinations for all of them,” explained Zungu.

Ntuli has attracted interest in North Africa and has also recently been linked with a potential move to Orlando Pirates and TS Galaxy.

SuperSport United were keen on Sithebe, so were TS Galaxy, but it’s understood none of the bids met AmaZulu’s evaluation of the players.
