The Siya crew has been given insight into why the the trio of Marlon Heugh, Mxolisi Macuphu and Shaune Mogaila left TS Galaxy, despite the club being in a battle to avoid relegation.
The three players were announced as new signings at ambitious outfit Royal AM, making their way to the KZN as the new kids on the block in the top-flight, and beat the deadline for registration, including former Swallows defender Thabo Matlaba.
According to information received by the Siya, Heugh, Macuphu and Mogaila had their contracts coming to an end in June 2022 and Royal AM offered the players good deals to make the move right now, rather than at the end of the season.
Galaxy were in fact keen on keeping all the players beyond the expiration of their contracts, but the Siya crew has been led to believe that the players were determined to make make an exit. As a result, Galaxy did not want to hold onto players whose minds would be elsewhere while they are trying to fight relegation.

The Siya crew had reported that Stellenbosch FC were interested in the services of Heugh, but Royal AM came up with a better offer which the goalkeeper could not turn down. Galaxy, meanwhile, are expected to announce free agent Mzwanele Mahashe. The player was handed his clearance by Royal AM and an announcement could be made by Galaxy in the coming days.
